The pebbles used for hydroculture are also ideal as a drainage layer in the bottom of your pots, so always start with a layer of hydro pebbles when potting a plant. A layer of 3-6 cm is sufficient, depending on the size of the pot. Hydro pebbles improve the water balance in the pot, so that your plant will grow better. It is important that outdoor pots have a hole in the bottom to allow excess water to escape.

You can also use hydro pebbles as a decorative layer on your indoor and outdoor pot plants. This layer will also help prevent the potting compost from drying out. Another alternative for a decorative or protective layer is bark or coconut mulch. The choice is yours!

Filling a pot? Always sprinkle a layer of Pokon Hydro Pebbles in the bottom of the pot. Fill about 20-25% of the pot with hydro-granules. Such a layer provides better water management in the pot. This ensures that the plant can grow better. For outdoor pots it is important that a hole is placed in the bottom of the pot so that excess water can drain from the pot.

1. Remove as much soil as possible from the roots (possibly rinse with water);
2. Wash the Hydro Pebbles with luke warm water;
3. Fill the (hydro)pot with about 4 cm (20% - 25%) hydro pebbles;
4. Place the plant on the pebbles and fill the pot until full with hydro pebbles;
5. Add luke warm water up t the desired level.
